    Ah, it didn’t even occur to me to turn THAT image into a mask. Good catch!

    I guess all that needs to be done past that is that the brightness of the two images has to be increased before applying the difference key so that the naturally black parts of the image are maintained.

    Just to follow up, I just tried out offsetting one of two duplicate mono tracks by 10ms and it sounds pretty great (at least comparatively). The depth of the sound is increased significantly although I’m sure any audio pros would laugh at this method. The only downside I’ve noticed is that if the stereo track is then downmixed to mono it sounds terrible like the sound is coming from a tunnel (which makes sense). As long as the tracks are coming from stereo speakers though it sounds fine.

    To get a smaller delay than 1 frame I used the delay filter at 100% wet mix w/ a .01s delay time and 0 feedback.

    Hmm, that looks like it might work. Thanks! Doesn’t seem to use edge detection though.
