Thanks alot for the input. Its starting to come together nicely. Im not even 100% sure I will do the B&W now just because the Day for night look I achieved looks pretty cool. I will keep playing with it though.

    Thanks again

Alright, thanks alot for the help. Im doing this partly to get more aquainted with After Effects. I’ve been an editor for a long time but never really got into effects much. So thats what im working on right now.

But I agree with the Sheesh. . . Its how I teach myself stuff. Think of something rediculous and learn how to do it.

    Thanks again

Obviously im not satisfied. If I was, I wouldn’t be asking more experienced people for their input would I?

Thanks Todd for the link, its given me a good baseline to go from.

Thanks for the input. I understand all the complications with trying to make this day for night, and I had thought about most of them. I unfortunately didn’t have the budget and availability to shoot at night or shoot it in a day for night fashion. I wanted to have alot more lights inside But I figured (as you mentioned) there is next to no Sky so I don’t need to make stars or a moon or change blue to black. And im not really getting hard edges. But you already said all that.

Keep in mind though that everything outside will be in black and white already. Which adds to the effect and also helps with the interior being more dimly lit than ideal. I agree with the spill from the door though. I had a hard time rotoscoping that to look acurate. I already did an edit because I was on a very tight schedual but now that the screening is done I have time to re-edit it much better. I will attach the already edited opening to give you an idea what the black and white to color effect does. You will also see how I got rid of the crew reflections (though it was crudly done).

I would obviously need some kind of lights to illuminate the parking lot. I knew it was going to be alot of work, but I was just hoping that there would be some tricks or at least guidelines to follow to get me on the right track. Im not super experienced in AE so I didn’t want to waste too much time figuring out the ropes myself if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Thanks again
