I’ve been getting this error message recently, though I’m on a Mac and am rendering to PNG Quicktime files. However, I am working with Raw RED 32-bit files (.R3D files).
One thing I noticed was that the error wouldn’t happen while I was working, or with shorter renders. So when rendering, I run an app called “Jiggler” which jiggles the mouse every minute or so, to keep everything on the computer awake. I have run multiple, lengthy renders from the UI while running Jiggler and have never seen the error arise.
Once when rendering from the command line, I received the error, even with Jiggler running.
I know there are similar apps for PC. Please try running it while rendering, and let us know what happens. My guess is that this has something to do with how the RED codecs work, that they are somehow “going to sleep” after a period of [relative] inactivity, and the Jiggler keeps the RED codec running….

Click the little icon in the upper right corner of the composition window (looks like a bunch of horizontal lines with a triangle next to it). View Options…” is in there.

Forget the clean plate — unless you’ve got it matched up (with near-pixel precision) it will be more headache than it’s worth. Have you tried CC Simple Wire Remover (I think it’s called)? That should probably get the job done.
When you say you have “Mocha” do you mean “Mocha for AE” or “Mocha Pro”? The latter has a nice wire-removal feature in it.
A third option is to use AE’s clone stamp tool, but the results will be similar to what you get with the CC effect from above.

Do some searching for “chromatic aberration.” Here’s a recent thread about it in the photoshop forum. But you’ll find lots of talk about this sort of effect all over the place; it’s been very popular over the past couple years.

If the camera is moving, then you can use a similar approach:
1. Use Photoshop to create a “patch” that will cover the portrait. This will probably go beyond the portrait itself, as there will be shadows from the portrait that it will cover as well, plus you will probably want to feather the edges a bit….
2. Use MochaAE to do a planar track of the portrait itself. This should produce the necessary movement information to match your patch to the wall. If your camera is on a tripod, then a simple position/rotation/scale track will be enough. If the camera is moving (handheld, on a dolly track, etc) then you’ll need to export corner-pin information and match things up that way — a bit trickier, but still doable.
3. Rotoscope out any foreground elements (the guy’s head, if it gets in front of the picture, for instance).
When a client comes to me with this kind of shot in mind, it’s difficult to say up-front how much work it will take. There are significant variables that, generally, the client hasn’t taken into account: is the camera moving? Are there people or other objects obscuring the object? Does the light shift over the course of the shot (shadows from tree leaves outside a window, or something crazy, like a disco ball)? Sometimes the person in the foreground has wild hair, and most of the time is spent trying to make a clean roto of that alone…. (In which case it would have been smarter to put green on the wall, and fake both the picture and the blank wall….)

This one imports for me fine (it’s a slightly modified Suzanne on a plane). Give it a try: TestForIsaiah_Sep2011.obj.zip
If it imports fine, then the problem must be on the blender side of things — you may want to try a different build and see if you get better results. If it doesn’t import properly, then my guess is the problem is on the Photoshop side of things. If its a big enough deal you may want to reinstall the app and try again.

A good way to scale lots of layers together is to create a new layer (a solid, i.e.) and make it the master parent of all the other layers, then scale / position / rotate the new layer until you get everything else where you need it.
Leave any layers that are already parented to another layer alone. Just connect the upstream parent layers to that, in the end, each parenting chain ends up at the new layer / master
Once you’ve got everything how you want it, simply delete the master parent. (Of course, you can keep the master parent for later manipulation if you want.)

I just tried a very simple OBJ export from Blender and it imported fine into PS (CS5). Have you tried it with something as simple as the basic cube, or a suzanne (the monkey)?
PS can also import 3ds files, which Blender can export as well, so you may want to try that….

Can’t see the screenshot. Right-click on your footage and choose Interpret Footage–>Main… to set the framerate. (On older versions of AE, it was Ctrl+F, I believe…)
