Ok that wasn’t the last question… Based on your second post, and my research – there would be no way to use that Areca box with my current Mac Pro (2008 3,1)?

Thanks for the info Bob. I may upgrade before getting a new computer, and in that case I’d probably just copy over the old raid to a new one, and then maybe keep the old one as a backup drive. Then I’d get the PCI expansion chassis.
Thanks for pointing me to the Areca box, do you have experience with it?

I am running an older Mac Pro, so I have the Areca 1882x inside currently running my raid. But right now I’m looking for future options for next year, when I plan to upgrade my computer, so I’d have thunderbolt 3 at that point. I wanted to keep my current RAID chassis, but it only supports 4TB drives, so I am limited to 32TB, and I am looking to go up to 80TB, which is what led me to the HighPoint.

One more question Jon, is the EditBox listed as “EB800MS” only 6G or are there 3G versions? I just see the EB800MS listed on a retailers site, but in the description it only mentions 3G.

Ok great, thanks again. The IS316JS is more than I need (and possibly for a while), so I think the EditBox is the way to go for now.

So the higher end card gives me expandability. Another question, is the EditBox itself expandable? And would I need the better card to do that if it is?

I second Non-Stop music. I’ve had great success finding good music there, and the licensing has been more than reasonable.

I second non-stop music. I think they are nearly as good as Killer Tracks, but come in cheaper. I’ve only used them for project specific licenses, not yearly blankets, so I can’t help you no that front.
