    I see what you’re saying.
    But there is a progress.
I managed to download the plugin 64 from the Canon site and it works fine.
However, The only way it will let me bring in the MXF files is by IMPORT !!! (the old way) .
When I tried the so called, new-way LINK TO MEDIA, an Avid note popped up saying “Unable to link to any clip at/ Volumes/ CANON XF / CONTENTS”.
    Now I’m really confused.

    Dear Shane
I’m sorry if I offended you. That’s not what I had in mind.
I’ve been using the MC since 1983, editing hundreds of hours of on air shows. So far never missed a deadline.
It happens so often that you encounter some problems during the edit. At times I solve them by myself at the expense of precious editing time. And if I can’t do by myself, I’m seeking the advice through online forums. I am really appreciating all of the replies I’ve got so far.
It’s become a way of life to all of us, which makes it easy for the developers at Avid.
It will be much easier for the editor if they were designing a simple way by touching the icon will open a submenu with explanation. Like this case of mine, the icon T = Temporal.
It for sure will make the editing time easier for all Avid users.

    Thanks,
however how can I tell what it is, if I’m not a staff member at Avid?
why do I need to guess or speculate?

June 14, 2015 at 3:27 pm in reply to: QT file came out too large

    Thank you William.
    Here is the deal:
    Dimension: 720×480, Duration: 54:55 Codecs:MPEG4 Total bit rate:7,038
    Dimension: ” Duration: ” Codecs:H264 Total bit rate:5,831

    Dimension: 1440X1080 Duration: ” Codecs:MPEG4 Total bit rate :83,252

Just by enlarging the dimension by approx 3 times the bit rate expends by almost 10 times.(?)

Is there any other way to export high resolution files with less pain?

    Thanks,Avi

    Thanks Shane
I would like to screen the doc in lecture rooms. That’s why in need the highest resolution QT file.
The scenes in the doc were shot on HDV 1440×1080.
I guess at that point it will be too late to change the raster Dimension on the project’s format.
But, I still want to understand how it possible to shrink the size of the exported file?

    Thanks Rainer
Out-, do you mean to device?
In my case I’m talking about Export not Output.
Export to QT file or any other video format.

July 12, 2014 at 2:06 am in reply to: FCP files to Avid?

What I like to do is re-cut the project on Avid, and I want to move the whole project over.
If I understand it right, the Automatic Duck should be installed on the FCP.(?)
