I tried this and it works but the video on V1 that shows through the text is black and white. Why?

Thanks guys. We’d like to fill a 8ftX20ft wall. Were on a strict budget. So you think like 4 tradition black lights won’t be enough?

I think those lights are too much to buy and rentals in Boston probably aren’t likely..

Good to know. So would you say the safest, easiest, cheapest way would be to just get a bunch of traditional black lights?

Putting gels over the arri’s wouldn’t work?

The error message I get is “operation not allowed.” I’ve tried renaming and saving and saving to different drives and the desktop. Still no luck!!

    What can I do?!

Thanks a lot Michael and everyone. Some very good advice. I didn’t think of needing to add streetlights or window lights. I’m going to try a test before we film.

Since I already filmed the scene, I know that most of the shots will have the sky in them. Including the 2 punching shots. But it will all be on a still tripod and the scene is less than a minute long.

Heres a fun edit (not the whole thing) of the scene I already filmed:

I don’t have much AE experience (obviously) so I might just try to shoot it a little earlier in the evening when the sun isnt setting so fast.

Thanks. So would you recommend shooting during a cloudy day or at sunset and risk having the lighting be different in each shot?

Anything else besides the shadows and sun I should avoid when filming? Would using a tripod make it easier in post? Thanks!

Is there a tutorial for how to do an effect like this? How to freeze video and separate and highlight the subject from the background? I’ve looked and can’t find anything like it but I know its a common effect.

    Thanks!

Thanks guys I like the Panda idea. The film is a fun comedy and is kinda like a music video.

The music in the film is funky rock music from the 70’s (the Grass Roots). The credits song is a funky, jazzy, fun song. So the credits should follow this.

Awesome. Would it be better to film against black or a greenscreen? I have access to a nice greenscreen.
