I would consider that, but cannot afford new hardware and don’t believe the new stuff will run on this:
Machine Model: Power Mac G4
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.1)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 867 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 2 MB
Memory: 768 MB
Bus Speed: 133 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.2.5f1
Serial Number:
with this card
Name: DATX,Media100
Type: Other Multimedia
Bus: PCI
Slot: SLOT-3
Vendor ID: 0x1116
Device ID: 0xc000
Revision ID: 0x0004
My experience so far is that going to 10.3.9 in the same machine started creating kernel panics whenever I would try to import an audio or still image file. We went back to 10.2.8 and things calmed down and started working. I worry that even if I paid for the upgrade the newest (8.2.3) thing wouldn’t work on this hardware configuration. I fear I am faced with sticking where I am. Maybe someone who has been able to stay on a hardware and software upgrade path would sell their legitimate Graffiti 2.1 install disk since they no longer need theirs.
Before I start posting on eBay I think I will call M100 on Monday AM. Thanks for your help.
