    thanks again, noah
i’m not sure i understand you though:
    – the scopebox site tells me that
“Not only can you monitor your video, you can capture it too. ScopeBox’s recorder palette allows you to digitize your video direct to disk. Digitize your incoming signal to QuickTime movie or DV stream”.
    – how is that better than using live capture in FCP (which my dealer in germany suggested)? Is that something you could recommend (live capture)?

    also
-Is there any way at all of getting the composite video into a Macbook / affordable hardware adapter?

thanks, noah, you’re a star (you must be, i bought your DVD)

Unfortunately, i’m sitting in Azerbaijan, not the kinda place where you can find a Powerbook. We don’t have a single Apple dealer within a 1000 miles, only a ‘licensed reseller’ who thought that iMovie is better than FCS2.

Is it possible to get a connection to a MacBook (non-Pro) or a non-Mac laptop (maybe even a tablet) via composite cable (and some affordable adapter) to use it as a viewer/monitor?
