I didn’t even render in motion, I just made the clip then imported it into FCP5. I didn’t see any option for rendering in the pulldown menus in motion. The only thing I saw that could have anything to do with frame size was the project preset which I set at NTSC DV. Wonder if I should change it to NTSC broadcast SD?

    Thanks..

couldn’t find the manual. Could you please explain how the process works here? I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks,

I can clearly see that, for the time being, my claim to the title of Original Idiot, remains safe. But thank you anyway.

Read the “rainbow pixels” post, down below- click on “2 months” and it should be somewhere in there about apple’s incompatibility with P2

Great- thanks for the answer. My only other concern is I’ve read a few posts elsewhere about the compatbility of apple to p2. The rumbling is that apple OS doesn’t recognize p2 (i.e., failing to recognize it as external hard drive-) has that all been resolved now?

  • DV output on the Panasonic DV-2500 is not compatible with either the 400 or 800 port on the G5 so unless I am doing something supremely stupid… It appears to me that the ports on the G5 are 6 points whereas the DV deck port (DV output) is 4 points.

So I understand 24PA to be true 24fps; so then why is 24p preferred for FCP? Logically 24pa gives you smaller file sizes, doesn’t it?

Thank you for doing research. I will most certainly test it right out of the box.
