My Final Cut ver 6.06 frequently refuses to launch. I get an error message “BCC ARTALL plug in causing FC to crash.
I notice when I launch Final Cut that I see a Boris Logo Boris Continuum Shaders appears. I tried removing this folder from the Boris Fx Folder, but it didn’t help.
I trashed my FCP preferences and sometimes this helps and sometimes it doesn’t.

I’m starting a job next week and would really love to fix this ASAP.

My System is: Mac Pro New 12 Core, with lots of ram and space, w ATI Radeon 5870 1GB graphics card.

A friend sent me this info and it worked for me:

“Add an element in your comp back in AE that can “catch” the effect. For example the alien face effect will not load unless I have a shape layer AND a shape defined that will be taken over by the template.”

1. Make a new comp
2. Create a solid
3. then try importing the pre set or effect, it should come in to AE just fine
