    I agree with you.

BUT – I work in the field alot.. ( cannt bring ideal equipmwnt )

AND: In the LOG AND CAPTURE window – playback from canon camcorder is fine
BUT: playback from DSR-11 is so degraded that it is worthless.

Guys: Look at the FACTS: playback from cheap canon camcorder GOOD – from DSR-11 USELESS.

So there is obviously something wrong here!!!

    I am not capturing…..

I am previewing in the log and capture window.

THIS is where the quality is totally screwed from the DSR-11 – but good from a cheap canon camcorder.

    Hm.. this is disturbing……

And I am not totally convinced..because:

When I capture directly from a cheap DV camera – the cature preview looks just fine…..

I cannt honestly belive that spending 3000 dollars on a DSR-11 – only would give me a deck that functions worse than a cheap canon camcorder??

Is there an issue with canon and preroll?

and the 3 sec preroll -what does that mean? just shoot 3 secs of nothing important?

  • Really?

Wow – thanks – i did not know that!

As glad as I am for being given an answer – it leaves me also somewhat more puzzled….

Some say rendering ( with current FCP version ) is CPU only – others say the Graphic card matters.

So what is it? CPU? Graphic card? Both? Anyone care to settle this once and for all?

    Regards

    Nope – did not work – strange….

    Note:
I had a clean PC with a fresh XP install – and all service packs.
    I then installed AF7.
    I then installed BCC4.
    I then installed Genarts Sapphire.

    Result:
    AE7 semingly works fine
    Genarts work fine
BCC4 – gives the errormesssage in AE7 – stated earlier.

Updated with the patch – still no joy.

The guys at BorisFX responds: That BCC4 should work fine under these conditions – and that I should contact their support.
Not cheap to do from Norway…. International calls darn expensive….)

  • What I consider normal work?

I think I stated that in my original post.

Normal cutting – with minimal rendering.

The “only” rendering I do today , is when I colorgrade with MB editors.
