Creating motion graphics can be hard enough when you can actually see the work that you’re doing. Why complicate it by working on the smallest screen possible? Get a big screen and a Mac with the GPU power to drive it.

I think you need to discuss this with post house. If they’re looking for an encoded MPEG2 they should tell you that. But if they’re looking to encode the video for you, then they may want an uncompressed QT.

In Shake you would track the thread, then attach the track to a paint stroke to clone out the thread. that plus a lot of frame by frame adjusting.
You might want to take a look at some of the Imagineer products to fix something like this.

Have him drop all of the clips into a timeline and export an EDL in CMX-3600 format. You can then import that into FCP and batch capture.

Then that’s why your text it illegal. This is not a bug in FCP, it’s common to any graphics or video app. If you use pure 100% white, that’s illegal for broadcast. Legal white is around 92%.

Automatic Duck will not convert your media. It will only make an XML that can be imported into FCP. The media will still need to be converted somehow, and it will have to be in a codec that FCP can understand.

What color is your text? If it’s 100% white, then it’s supposed to be illegal. Anything above 92% white is illegal.

The K2 will be fine for your immediate needs. It’s an excellent card by current standards. There’s only 2 features that it lacks- it won’t cross convert between 1080 and 720 and it won’t monitor 2k. Other than that it’s a great card.

I know, it’s like a benevolent gift to the post production community! By comparison, the Decklink speed test won’t load if it can’t find any Decklink hardware installed. Makes me want to buy a Kona.
