Without knowing anything about this monitor, I believe that the monitor does exactly what it is supposed to be doing, that is displaying the proper raster size of the DVCPRO-HD codec.
From where are u displaying the signal? From the editor? Or a just some player? (i.e Windows media player for MXF files, when the codec is installed) Because the latter will display it that way..
The NLE editor should correct the image and display it properly on the monitor if you’re outputting from the BM card, though… -

October 12, 2008 at 2:19 am in reply to: capturing audio with blackmagic using a XLR micI Have tried this, it works, but only when capturing in Premiere, it’s not something you can really control or has any real usability, and the inputs are really there for balanced inputs from i.e beta decks.
You have to use a separate solution for this, like for instance a firewire external audio card.

July 1, 2008 at 5:36 pm in reply to: Vista64 & Decklink – how to get it working?I do and it outputs fine when working on Premiere, AE and all supported applications. Driver 6.7 fixed some audio issues as well in my case.
Actually my system in its current state (Vista 64 ultimate SP1, you can check my system specs on my profile) is more stable than ever. As a side note the card is not visible on the windows “display settings” window. -

June 17, 2008 at 11:13 am in reply to: Decklink HD extreme real time preview in AECS3You can preview a 1080 project with the extreme edition, the thing is though that the realtime and playback performance of your project besides disk speed solely depends on the amount of ram AE has in its disposition and the preview quality you have configured, after all it is called RAM preview…and it seems you have plenty…

Yeah, I’ve been using Decklink HD extreme PCIe with Vista 64 and CS3 too and the latest versions have added more stability lately especially in audio, so nothing to worry about.

April 28, 2008 at 12:47 pm in reply to: Supported motherboards/chipsets for DecklinkThe only one I think is a quite a good deal is this one:
https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon1333/5100/X7DCA-L.cfm
Because of the 3 PCIe (1 x16 & 2 & x8)slots. and the ATX (Standard PC Case) form factor
Other than that I find Supermicro’s products to have a rather limited range, I mean why isn’t there a 3 PCIe x16 motherboard? They only have a 5 x8 which means you cannot even install a standard Graphics card.
I would suggest looking again at MAC Pro’s they have AMAZING expandability and server class motherboards plus they support PCIe 2.0 and the latest 1600 FSB Xeons. You can always buy a Quad and upgrade later to 8 core or more memory.

X38 will not have problems. Chipset problems were apparent mostly in the plain PCI era where latency etc. issues plagued VIA and nVIDIA chipsets.
Going with desktop motherboards is, I should say always a Hit or Miss situation. There’s always “something” that may go wrong for instance, bad bioses, blue screens, memory incompatibilities, bad eSATA controllers (JMicron – stay away!)The lot…
I managed to have a stable system (Quad Intel) which is very quick in renders, editing, Photoshop etc. But the next one will be a MAC pro. I’ve had it.
Additionally I would suggest going with a newer 3 slot PCIe desktop motherboards(1 that’s 16 lanes and 2 that are 8 lane) So you’re able to put another card in i.e Fiber Channel.
You could always go for maybe a MAC Pro, or Server motherboard.
I hope this helps.
