I am having EXACTLY the same problem. I tried updating Quicktime to see if it was a codec issue, but no joy, i’m still getting the flat audio file. I’m currently in the process of updating to Vegas Pro 8.1 to see if that helps. If all else fails, i’m going to try ripping the audio into a seperate track using another program and then importing in to vegas, but this is a major headache. I was hoping to use this camera for a lot of video i bring into vegas, but its now looking like this might not work out.
