  • No, my dpx looks fine as well. Only after the dcp is made I can see that the color is very desaturated and the black are lifted. When you say you passed the entire workflow with original camera footage, do you mean you still colorgraded in Resolve? It more or less narrows it down to it has to be something with Resolve or the format/codec used when shooting. My material was shot with red-one 4k, REDcode 9:1 (Redcode 36). The colorspace used in Resolve was yRGB.

  • Hi Pedro,

Did you manage to resolve the issue?
I’m having the same problem. The color-correction has also been done in Resolve, re-imported to premiere and I’ve exported in various codecs like dpx, TIFF, prores – same problem still occuring after the dpx has been made.

Need to solve the issue tonight so if there is anyone who has a solution please let me know as soon as possible.

The interleaved file is interpreted and exported correctly, so there is no need to import each discrete channel. I downloaded Audacity and the FFMpeg plugin to check the ac3 channels and they where identical to the original exept for minor overall level differences which seemed to be the result of a normalization of the channels – but that has to do with the DD 5.1 settings in the Inspector window.

Another major issue I dealt with was that I had made some minor cuts in the interleaved file while editing in Premiere so in order to have the video file and sound file exactly the same length in Encore I had to export it from Premiere in order to open it in compressor. I managed to do so by changing the channel settings from Stereo to 5.1 and exporting as an uncompressed 5.1 wav file. Neither the AIFF nor Quicktime codecs managed to export 5.1 without deleting some channels and ruining the surround. Don’t know why that is.

Anyone? I’m in quite a hurry to get this issue resolved as I have no surround facility to check it myself and need to have the blu-ray complete by tomorrow morning.

    Thanks Guys!

I will try both! I have a well maintained Mac as well.
I can use it in case of an emergency. We will do some tests
monday morning and I’ll make sure I have some blu-ray discs
    in different bitrates as well.

Are there any updates on this? I’m running FCP 6.0.6 and I’m still loosing the smoothcam render files.

  • Rafael you are my knight in shimmering armor! Not shining – you shimmer!
And thanks for the info on how to get the metadata by importing mp4. files to ClipBrowser – priceless!

    Updated from XDCAM-transfer 2.5.1 to 2.11

  • Hi! I’ve followed the tutorial and I am not able to select between exporting to
MXF. and MPEG4. There is no checkbox, as in the end of the video. I’m running FCP 6.0.6.
and XDCAM TRANSFER 2.5.1. (which to the best of my knowledge is the program converting
the sequence to MPEG4, or in my case only to MXF.)

I want to get the footage on the SxS card again, and be able to view the footage on the EX1, because
I’m filming the second part of a scene and I want to compare the lighting on location. I filmed the first
part of the scene and only imported the files through XDCAM TRANSFER and deleted the original MPEG4
    files.

I’ve tried to export the sequence in MPEG4 using Compressor and Quicktime Conversion, but ClipBrowser will not recognize the files when I try to import them and create the metadata.

Hopefully you guys can help me out here…I need have this problem fixed in 18 hours!:)
