    Hello,

So are you saying that you used the cable that you purchased on eBay successfully on other lenses?

I routinely repair my own equipment and have made such cablrs myself that work on all of my Fujinon lenses.

    Thanks!

    Hello Chris,

    Thanks for the reply!

Trying to get any info from Panasonic is like trying to breath under water 🙂

I believe the signal coming out of the HDMI is 1080i 60.

I am looking at every piece of information I can get my hands on, like I stated,I like the Shuttle and would love to use it.

I hope that someone out there can address this because the GH2 is quite popular and a lot of owners are hacking the camera to get better results, and they are all candidates for the Shuttle.

    All feedback is welcome!

    Thanks Again… Anthony

    Hello Kurt,

    Thanks for the reply.

I don’t have any hacks applied right now, but I did in the past.

To get it back to stock I had to use Ptools and uncheck all of the settings because the GH2 wouldn’t let me simply reinstall the stock 1.1 firmware. I always wondered if that would have a negative affect??

Do you know of a better way to restore my GH2 to ver 1.1 from Panasonic??

    Thanks Again!!

    Hello Again… A slight Update…

I said that extra frames were being added, well I read that recording from the GH2’s HDMI port added and deleted frames randomly, but upon closer inspection (I was going to experiment with manually removing the extra frames) I found that there are no extra frames per-say.

The ghosting I described is at the heart of the problem.

When panning each frame appears to be a combination of 2 frames at different times. So depending on the speed of the pan (and the shutter speed – the higher the SS the closer together is the dual image) you get an interlaced image (half of the lines) at one point in time, and another (the other half of the lines) at a later point in time. Where they overlap, the image is solid, but on either side you have a “ghost” image which when played back you can see through the image where the missing lines are, thereby giving a notched edge effect.

And I haven’t even wrapped my head around how I can fix that yet??

Thanks for your interest and feedback!!

    Hello 🙂

    Thanks for the input.

Yes, the Shuttle 2 records in either uncompressed or using the DNxHD codec in an mov wrapper.

  • Hello,

    Where do you do that?

    Thanks!

  • Hello All,

I just started using a BM HyperDeck Shuttle 2 and it records in uncompressed and in DNxHD.

I installed the Avid codec on my CS6 machine, but I cannot find an option to encode (media encoder) to the DNxHD codec anywhere. I looked under the QuickTime presets, etc, but nothing.

Where am I going wrong here??

Also as an aside; when using clips made with the shuttle (DNxHD 220 I believe) what Sequence Presets, or settings should I use.

    Thanks in advance… I’m kinda lost 🙂
