Thank you all for the replies and suggestions. Pretty new to a lot of this, so pardon my followup questions:

@Dave Would I be applying this to the comp nested in a new comp with multiple instances/layers, for each trouble spot?

@Roland – multiply blending mode – how? Existing layers or new, additional layers?

@Chris – can you elaborate a little re the spill settings and transparency?
