  • Is there any improvement in the zoom? The EX-3 has totally useless zoom operation.

I’m renting the new Sony next week for 10 days so I am curious as to whether I will be able to pull a better key from the new camera.

Shame they didn’t get up to a 1080P 60fps as well.

Not good news for me, I’m using motion 4.

So there is no easy way in motion 4 then…

There is an effect that will turn or roll paper and you can assign a back side to it in AE. I wasn’t aware the same effect existed in Motion.

    Feel free to enlighten me.

    THanks for the replies guys.

I have some tifs as well but they are all resized to be at 100%

Ironically just after I posted my original post it ran right through without errors… It just seems to be random as to when it is going to object….. (Like right as I am now posting – dammit!)

I think you are right about filters as I am using some 3rd party filters for the compositing and due to the poor lighting in the shoot there are a few of them…

Oh well… maybe time to ask my boss for a new computer, this one has been my faithful slave since 08…. 🙂

  • save it as a tiff with tranpsarency, then in FCP
On clip right click/item properties/format/ change the alpha setting to straight.

    That should work.

Thanks for your reply, actually my computer lost it/ deleted it. I worked out what it was and made another from the same clip I had used and renamed it the old name and put it in the render folder and all was fine.

Anyway the quality issues I was having had nothing to do with that but rather with my slowly disintegrating mac… I restarted and the renders came out beautifully.

All is cool! Thanks for your reply anyway!

Thanks for the reply. I can see there was a simple step that I was missing in the layer creation.

That makes it a little easier to organize. Thanks

Thanks, yeah I was talking about FCP, composite with a bit of color work and a couple red giant effects and I’m getting hour long renders on 5 minute pieces. I encode in telestream episode because I can keep on working while it is chugging away in the background.

Anything to share the load would be wonderful… Apple…. anyone out there?
