how to keep transparency photoshop file in finalcut pro

January 31, 2012 at 7:22 amsave it as a tiff with tranpsarency, then in FCP
On clip right click/item properties/format/ change the alpha setting to straight.That should work.

January 31, 2012 at 11:23 amPNG files can also preserve the alpha. Just be sure to set the colors to be millions+. the + is the alpha track.

Just import the PS file.

January 31, 2012 at 2:45 pmAlso works if saved as .tif with “millions” of colors (to include the alpha channel).
Beginners may get thrown by putting multilayer .psd files on the timeline where they can become their own sub-timelines.
