Could be you track is stereo but with left and right out of phase. Fix is to add the fill left with right audio effect to the faulty clips or track.

Right click on the file in Queue and duplicate.

Dip to black is best used as a double sided transition.
If you want to use as a single sided transition use cross dissolve instead.
