If you are having trouble with the cross dissolve turn of Composite in linear color in the Sequence settings.

I have a reasonable new desktop with W10 with a firewire card. Recently captured 10 tapes of D8 footage without any issue with CC 2020.

Dont use Dip to Black as a single sided transition. Only suited as a double sided transition.

Export frame means exporting the frame you are seeing in the PM.
If that is a proxy file with black bars then yes you will have black bars

Thread is from 2019, things have changed over time and there is no support for CS6 what so ever. AFAIK Downloading from Adobe only works when one bought a download version and registered with Adobe at the time. If you bought disk there is no download link in ones account.
The only time Adobe will provide a link is when one needs to update a freshly installed CS6 version.

You need to convert everything to CFR before bringing it into Pr.
Dont use AME to convert when using the audio. You still will end up with OOS issues.
