But that will affect the timing of the animation in the precomps as well (right?), which I don’t want! :/

I’ve tried the “follow the null” suggestion on this page: https://www.motionscript.com/mastering-expressions/follow-the-leader.html, and it positions the followers as I want but I can’t get them to follow the leader. Could it be because it’s made especially for 3D-layers and I’m working with 2D?
