    Thanks Paul

This sounds like a good solution if they insist on data clips. I already use MPEG Streamclip for various things so I should probably ge the Avid codecs anyway.

    Thanks Derek

Glad to know it’s not just me 🙂

It would be nice if Media 100 could take a look at this as I also use this all the time.

I’m using the M100i codec throughout. I’ve done this many times before in earlier versions of M100 and never had a problem.

    Workflow:

Render graphic animation in AFX using M100i PAL codec. Import to M100 using M100i codec. Create freeze. Playback looks fine. Export as M100 codec – level drop visible in QT. Export as Animation codec – no drop in level.

If not a bug somewhere in the export M100 codec process what could cause this?

    Thanks

That’s really useful advice Thomas – thanks very much. I’m likely to be in KL towards the end of March if you give me your Email or cellphone I’ll give you a call and buy you a couple of beers.

    Thanks Thomas

So will we ba able to enter Malasia with a standard list of equipment and then go the client’s offices without any official procedures?

If we are on the street with a shoulder mounted camera will the police hassle us.

I can get a letter form the Malaysian office of our client explaining what we are doing, would this be enough?

    Your advice is appreciated.

    Thanks Floh

So it’s the SDI/analogue in/outs on the Kona that won’t work on the same partition with M100 but you can edit and acquire footage via Firewire? This is fine for me as I’m just fiddling with FCP and will still use M100 for anything serious 🙂

    Cheers

[Floh Peters] “You can even run FCP with DV/FireWire I/O.”

But not with 9 pin deck control as this would use the Kona?

Thanks a lot guys for the speedy reply.

    I think I get it:-

Install FCP Studio onto my existing drive that has M100, AFX etc on it – but leave off the FCP Kona drivers.

Clone this drive (my default boot drive) to a new drive or partition called FCP or whatever.

De-install M100 from the FCP drive and then install the FCP Kona drivers.

So I can then use DVDSP from the M100 drive, if working in M100? and also Motion and Compressor?
