OK. So then the right choice of recording format with the HVX is probably 720P at either 24 or 30 FPS (I probably will shoot at 24). I also am going to need to have a camera that I can grab quickly and “run and gun” with a bit. I have a Canon HV30 and have had success using it with HVX footage in the past. Would shooting HDV 24 with the Canon and 720P at 24 fps with the HVX be a decent choice?

Great. So once this is finished is there anything else I should be aware of in terms of using this file to burn a DVD in DSP? Thanks again.

Thanks for the response. I have exported Quick Time movies self contained and not self contained. I have encoded with Quick Time Pro and with DVD Studio Pro as well as Compressor. I have not done an export with Compressor from the FCP timeline however. How would I go about doing that? I see a send to compressor option…is that what you mean?

Thanks…that actually reminded me of another question I have. If I am shooting in 24P with the DVX in Squeeze mode, should I be importing with the pull-down removal setting? I am experiencing some subtle vertical lines on the edges of my image when viewing on a computer screen, but not on a tv monitor. I am guessing that this is the interlacing. Should I be setting up my DVX with progressive/squeeze/thin settings? Any tips? Thanks again.

ok…so am I to understand that if I shoot in 24Pa then I will not see the interlacing, after de-interlacing my footage? And if I shoot in 24Pa do I have to capture my footage differently? i.e. pull-down removal? This footage will primarily be viewed online…that is why the interlacing concerned me. And by the way, thanks for all your help. You guys have always been very helpful.

That is what I thought but I tried to de-interlace with no luck. It was shot 24P.
