[Bill Davis] “No Timeline gaps ( magneticism rocks) for 6 years.”

I can get what I call gaps (black no video) in FCPX pretty easy.

At IBC Adobe did announce some updates to the Essential Graphics Panel (the new titling system of Premiere Pro). I think Adobe should have just waited until 2018 to release the Essential Graphics Panel. It needs more time to mature. As of now many people like the old titling system better. I know I do. We have to let Adobe know not to get rid of the old legacy titling system any time soon. I am sure in another two years the essential titling system will be much better than it is now.

Is every state the same way?

September 9, 2017 at 7:59 pm in reply to: Audio editing in FCPX and Premiere Pro

    [Brian Seegmiller]
You only showed editing audio, NOT VIDEO!!! Let me repeat that, NOT VIDEO!!! Jesús Pérez-Miranda showed how moving video around does not mess with the tracks. You showed nothing of the sort. Let’s see you move Video Clips around and not mess with audio.”

I only showed how Premiere Pro can edit audio easier than Jesus did in his demonstration because I did not want the video to be that long. Having said that editing the audio faster should have been enough for you to admit that Premiere Pro can edit audio as good if not better than FCPX and that Jesus’s demo had some serious flaws. I have a new video up showing that I can move audio and video clips much easier than Jesus using Premiere Pro. I am not saying it is easier than using FCPX nor did I ever. I think you have to admit I did edit much more efficiently than Jesus considering he never completed either task using Premiere Pro and let the viewers think it was impossible to do the edit in Premiere Pro. I was able to complete both tasks very easy. How can you explain that Brian? Is Premiere Pro an inept editing system or can you admit Jesus’s demo had a lot of user errors?

September 9, 2017 at 12:41 am in reply to: Of locked bins and collaboration

[Andrew Kimery] “Obviously this sort of functionality has to come from Apple itself, not outside developers, so does the group think that collaborative features in X are actively in play behind the scenes or is this another niche itch that Apple doesn’t want to scratch? While the framing of the Hollywood Reporter article is about Adobe looking to woo big budget, feature film editors I think that artificially narrows audience that uses collaborative features.”

FCPX was built from the ground up to offer features never before found in a NLE. Collaboration features are very old school and very Avid like in nature. I only wish all editors could look to the future of editing as opposed to wanting old worn out features that embrace an old school paradigm.

I kid I kid. I was trying to sounds like a certain FCPX user : )

I don’t need those features but I know many others do. I can see the merit of adding such features. I don’t player hate new features that I myself don’t use. Having said that I hope they fix the bugs in Premiere Pro : (

I ordered the Phantom 3 Standard. I know it is not state of the art but I think it will make for a good first drone. I bought it for personal use as opposed to professional use but if I can manage to make a buck or two with it that is even better.

September 7, 2017 at 6:18 pm in reply to: how to animate a shape with a mask in premiere cc?

[Esther Casas] “Then, in the “crunchy peanut slaw” there is a rounded rectangle under the title, can that shape be made in premiere or I also have to go into AE? so far I only have the typical square and elliptical shape in the title tools…here the image:”

Premiere Pro’s old legacy titling tool is one of the best titling tools in the business. Animating lines in Premiere Pro is super duper easy. There is no need for After Effects. You can use a wipe or slide transition or key frame it with motion paths. You can also use the crop tool. If you can wait two weeks I will try to make a tutorial. Until then below is a video that demonstrates the power of Premiere Pro’s titling system but it is not a tutorial.

I have never seen anything like it. Try a driver update or maybe try a driver that is 7-8 months old. See if that fixes the problem.
