    Hi.
By importing a sequence do you mean that this is done via an XML file? I’ve actually not had good luck with importing an XML file into this particular project and I am wondering if there is another way to simply “import a sequence from another project version”.

I am working on a music project where one editor is working on all of the performance footage edits and another is working only on the BTS footage. We plan on meeting soon and re-combing our work back into one session but the only way I can see to do that now is by the use of an XML file which seems to not be working properly.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks.

The link (Treasured) seems like a really great option. However, this footage was luckily not very important and I’m researching free options. I ran a diagnostic via the Treasured software and it seems to only be able to repair the same amount of footage as what is already recognizable at this point.

I really appreciate your help and hope more responses come in.

    Thanks!

I erased the thumbnail scratch inside the following path and it fixed my problem…

    Users/Documents/Final Cut Pro Documents/Thumbnail Cache Files/

there were two files and I erased them both while my hard drive was off and disconnected and FCP 7 was shut down. Upon reopening the session everything was back to normal.

I used to think Mac and FCP would be the end all answer to my crashing problems…nothing is perfect.

Thanks for the info cow guys!

September 17, 2009 at 11:58 pm in reply to: G-Speed eS RAID 0 with MacBook Pro; EX-1 Footage

I just spoke with a representative from Sonnet Tech today who told me that achieving raid 5 on a laptop is not possible with the g-speed es to Sonnet Tech Express34 port multiplier eSata card. However, I seem to get conflicting answers when researching all of this.

The gentleman I spoke with went on to confirm that the driver for this particular card I was using to connect the 3tb G-Speed es to my MBP would be updated for snow leopard by October 2009. When I spoke with G-Tech they told me that I needed to purchase a Pro version of the eSata connection before I could run in Raid 5. I don’t know who to believe.

At this point I am just waiting for a driver for the Express34 eSata connector card so I can at least run in Raid 0 or Raid 1 on my MBP.

Wish I would have heard of all this before I threw away $800 on a 3TB array that has the same level of safety as my crappy WD hard drive!

    Happy computing…
