Tom, yes it is absolutely a disappointing collection considering it is Sony. I guess they assume many people are creating/saving their own based on their needs. For some shoots, I actually use a color checker when shooting log and then use the color match feature for my color checker in Resolve, then go from there. I have noticed that there is a Cine4 LUT from pixel samy and also cody blue. To be honest, like Brad says, they appear pretty close so it may even be done with some advanced curves.

Do you get the same issue when you set the external monitor to the same settings (Res, Refresh, etc) as your laptop screen is set to?

Chris, good to know if that is the case. Everything I read usually suggests it’s destructive, but regardless I usually manually keyframe my audisoand then use a compressor. Also, if normalizing, I feel I get better results doing it on a clip by clip basis versus a sequence.

Normalization is destructive. You can duplicate your audio and put it on a different track so you have a (muted) track that you didn’t apply it to in case you need to make changes

Good point, Andreas. I know you are well-versed in captioning, so a question I have off of this is as follows: SRT is not frame based, it’s time based. But it was created based off a video. If that video is now playing at a slightly different rate based on the fact that it could be in a sequence with a slightly different frame rate, it seems that could make the captioning seem off. Is that possible? Or, is it always an error with the SRT file?

Blaise, as usual, seems to be on the right track here. Also, the difference in 23.98 vs 24fps over 20 minutes is exactly 1.2 seconds. This plus Blaise’s 4.8 seconds equals your 6 second difference in 20 minutes. So let’s double check the frame rate things are actually being played at (or interpolated at).

I’m almost 100% sure it’s not an option for clip markers. You can always write Adobe with suggestions, but I’m guessing this wouldn’t be tops on their list.

Generally speaking, Resolve relies much more on the GPU than Premiere. Premiere’s load balance is heavily shared by the CPU. I would say a higher end processor is needed for Premiere, and a solid mid-range CPU and GPU are needed for Resolve. Also, don’t forget about memory. I would recommend having 32GB of RAM for better performance regardless.

You may want to check out Mobfish or 3D Vista for adding the interactivity, they may offer a solution for you.
