  • I’m still editing on a 2015 MacBook Pro..why? Because the newest laptops do t have the ports we need without spending a few hundred more for add ons…an unnecessary touch bar and a terrible to the stiff loud stiff keyboard. Apple listening to its editors? Not lately

So it took FCP 10 six years to add features that were already in virtually every other NLE? Yes, 360 VR virtually didn’t exist back then in any NLE…but how many actually use this?

Still no tracks or virtual mixer — but Bill doesn’t need them, so no one else does either.

    Bravo!

  • This connected clips can only happen in FCP X is nonsense — heard of nested sequences? Want everything connected forever and forever — line em up – nest em Done.

Everyone loves their NLE but it seems only FCP X users feel the need to defend their using it.

So do i understand this correctly AATranslator will

    1 open a FCP 7 PROJECT FILE
2 without FCP on the system
3 -give you the option to create an XML that can be read in Premiere and or FCP X and others?

if so that is very cool

Just had a client from 7 years ago say they wanted to update and add on to an old FCP7 Project (we use Premiere Pro Now) Popped open 7 — XML out – open in Premiere — 90 percent carried over (remember Live Type….yeah that doesn’t translate) Some CC didn’t either and specialty transitions

    but ..very easy otherwise.

Apple – come on – just make a widget that opens FCP7 Project and creates a universal XML – can’t be that hard — Premiere Opens them without any translation

You could do the same thing in Premiere Pro (there you go…didn’t want to disappoint)
