Would this be Hackintosh, Linux or PC? Just curious as I am thinking of what my own next build will be post-WWDC disappointment.

ok will do thanks for the advice.

Also, I did a test and out of resolve with fcp xml the added grain 2nd track I overlayed comes back out on its own layer not baked into the shot below. Sorry can you remind me how to get it out of resolve baked in if I do the track composite mode instead of external matte method?

just get the regular standard 680 4gb card you will need the ram in v10 or if you can wait get the Titan!

  • Unforubately I cannot post anything online but it’s an overcast day at the beach, no cloud details just white sky no sun.

  • Not sure maybe someone else reading this can chime in?

  • type my apologies – the standard pc non-overclocked EVGA 5803GB or 6804GB both work fine in a macpro with 10.8.x – don’t bother using a separate gui card the benefits are like 2-3% increased.

  • Standard EVGA 5903GB runs fine in the MacPro I have seen it working fine in multiple boxes I have used at studios also the 6804GB card works fine as well – just dont try to use the quadro as well for GUI or you might run into power issues.

  • Yes its working correctly and the scaling done in Resolve from your 5k footage is WAY better than what its doing with the transcoded version of that file in fcp.

    grade away!

Thanks Mike and Peter for the help – I believe I got it worked out – with all clips selected in that redcine project i right clicked create rmd and now next to each r3d file i see rmd’s – i will re-conform in a new Resolve Project and see if the brings in that RMD info.
    Thanks
