Hey Paul not a bad idea. Would I then just paint it 18% gray, also thinking about how to mount in a way that would allow for it to look clean t and unmount when not grading??
I will try to go to have a look today at an art supply store for a solution.
thank you

hmm trying to imagine that and how I could quickly put it up for client sessions and otherwise put away easily for when its just a living room for normal tv / film viewing etc.
thank you for the replies thus far, much appreciated!

Well my whole point is that I CANNOT paint this beautiful brick wall grey at all which is why I have tried these other methods…

thanks for the reply
so the hdlink keeps asking for the firmare this week when i open the utility app – i update and power off as instructed but i am still prompted to update – also i am told that resolve should be asking for a decklink update when upgrading from 7.1 to 8 but it did not so i scared to update that to 8.2 in case it breaks things…

yeah thats what I figured too but just wanted to make sure because the version did not change when I upgraded to V8 from 7.1 and of course i noticed that there are newer Decklink driver versions on the BMD website.

would using the fcp version on my “from color” sequences suffice if i dont feel like dealing with bringing in a ton of shots to AE
After what you just said about applying it to most 5F footage it makes me think there reaslly are plenty of shots in this 88 minute film that could use a little noise reduction. hopefully my renders cna be used when i pass it off for online with my grades and the NR renders from the fxp sequence all on a drive??
cheers for the help!MacPro 4,1 OSX 10.6.8 / FCS3 / CS5

August 12, 2011 at 6:49 pm in reply to: Finally making switch from Color – First big Epic job with little turnaround timeThank you for the responses guys.
Unfortunately it seems we will only have one system to use in that 10 day period and we are hoping it is less than 130 hours that was like worst case scenario but still being prepared is better in the long run. Also hoping to not have to go back to the r3d’s and instead will already have ProRes4444 1080 transcoded quicktimes to grade with – in that case we might not even use Resolve if Color will do…i digress.
Just to clarify about Debayer Illya you mention “Full res debayer resize” – does that mean highest quality w/ 1080 resizing? sorry i am totally new to this Epic stuff & Resolve.
Also another question about what you said “two Resolve systems and then rent a couple Rocket cards. One system for color and the other strictly for transcoding” as far as we know right now it will come already transcoded but we want to be covered in case they do in fact ask us to grade off of the r3d’s and not 1080 4444 files. Why would i need to Resolve stations if I am only grading either 4444 or r3d?
I appreciate your help and patience…i realize its a lot to quickly understand!
thank you
