I disagree. There seem to be only around 3-5 new topics per day so it is easy to ignore any you are not interested in and notice the threads you prefer to follow. It would be more annoying to have two separate forums, both of which may happen to have useful and relevant information – there would surely be at least some posts turn up in the “newbie” or “configuration” oriented forum that might be of interest to more experienced users and vice versa.
Maybe if there were 20+ new topics a day another forum could be warranted but certainly not at current levels.

Yeah…..all rec709 here…..but that still crashed Color quite often…..maybe splitting operations into two separate graphics cards has something to do with it…..or maybe it’s just better code…..I don’t know much about why these things happen….but it is nice not having to deal with such flakiness……

Captioning gets done out of house here.
I have the Tektronix WFM 5000
I guess the issue here is the amount of throughput we have means that even though I basically manually legalize most stuff in the grading suite, we need something to catch anything missed once graphics etc are done.
For some reason the Harris legalizer always seems to cause problems so we have given up on this. At the moment we just stick the FCP legal filter on the final quicktime before going to HDcam. It seems to work.

I”m no video engineer but I know that if we don’t do some legalization we always get kicked back on QC by the networks.
