thanks craig. i am using an older version of compressor as i can’t afford to update.
i’m going to try applying a touch of noise on the original gradient on one of the videos that i made but the others i think are suffering from being compressed a few times like you said.
unfortunately i’ve been handed the videos from my client but i don’t think they are original master copies.
i’ll do some tests then get back if i have more info.

thanks.
does this mean i’ll be asked to reinstall programs or look out all my dvds and serials?
i’ve just moved and most of that stuff is in hidden away in big boxes in my attic until i get my shelves etc built. looking them out would be very tedious!

i’m not entirely sure what you mean by ‘fixing permissions’ so probably never or a long time ago!

hi, i guess with toast 10 hd i could make the blu-ray archive and send that to a shop where they could burn it onto a blu-ray dvd. is that right?

thanks for the swift responses.
i have toast 9 titanium but i see i need the HD/BD plug in! i’ll look into that.
does toast only do immediate playback DVDs?
i’d be looking to do a very simple i page menu with 2 or 3 buttons leading to videos. when the videos stop it’d jump back to the menu. is that possible?
i’ll trying finding info as well!

i’m not upto scratch with Raid but i read the link you posted.

why don’t i want mirrored (raid 1?) discs?

if i want a Raid5 set up is it best to get someone to build it for me or can you buy this stuff off the shelf?
what is better about raid5 and why would i need 4 smaller disks? is it safer? quicker?

i live in spain so buying from ad links in this forum is not for me.

oh yeah, i forgot, the lacie i was recommended was the 2Big Quadra 1tb Raid/Firewire400,800, eSata.
it seems to be 2 500gb discs in RAID.
anyone got any opinions on this hard disc?
