If you are sharing between PPro users have you tried using the Export->Selection as Premiere Project option, as opposed to XML, and then using the Media Browser to import what you need into your project? I’ve never used it but it seems like it could work better than XML.

“I’m confused Bill. Earlier you seemed to want to blowup the whole concept of TC because it’s antiquated, in your eyes, but now you seem to be back on board with TC. The idea of jam syncing TC with GPS was brought up days ago in this thread and Joe’s post is a more detailed thought piece on that topic. TC doesn’t go away at all (and in the video the guy underscores how much quicker it is to sync via TC than via waveform which is true), GPS just might be a possible alternative to current jam syncing methods.

Plan for both and stay within the broadcast safe title space. Unfortunately that leaves the vast majority of the time our videos are viewed with L3s and “rundown” graphics a lot farther from the edge than looks normal online.
“I wouldn’t worry too much about that. A lot of TV content is getting streamed so viewers used to seeing TV title safe on streaming content.

The FCPX version is more of an exporter. It doesn’t have the interactive features.”it does show you the gist of what Frame.io does though. After watching the PPro ‘tease’ I was like Herb and a bit lost. Once I looked over the rest of the site, including the FCPX video, I was like “Ah, it’s going to do those types of functions but *inside* of PPro”.

I’m running the most recent version of Chrome on a Mac and I’m not seeing any image quality fluctuations.

I’d say so. I’ve done a lot of work for the web and most of the time producers want the titles out of title safe because they think it looks better and it’s not going to be aired.

Not to ask a silly question, but in PPro when you go the Windows->Extensions the Post Notes extension does not show up, correct?

Not to speak for Oliver, but all other things being equal, an intra-frame codec (ProRes, DNx, Cineform, etc.,) is always going to be easier to handle from an playback/editing perspective than an interframe codec (H.264, MPGE2, etc). The advantage to interframe codecs is the small file size which is why camera makers like them (you can record more footage per card and off the shelf cards are fast enough to handle the data rates).

That was pretty much Jobs’ so it’s nothing new.. Apple made FCP 7 for themselves just like they’ve made FCP X for themselves. Users that liked FCP 7 happened to have their likes overlap with Apple’s likes and many users mistakenly took that as Apple making FCP for them, which wasn’t the case.
