Bah, I posted the above reply awhile ago, didn’t see that it actually “took” the message, so I made a new thread about it….oh well, hopefully the new thread might get some extra attention.

    Anyways, https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/software/

go there. On the right “side bar” you will see the top of that sidebar has an “entry” that says, “Blackmagic Codecs,” under which you can click your operating system. Click whatever, install them. Then, you should be able to play the files on quicktime or in premiere IF you’re problem is in fact the same as mine.

Good luck. Interested in knowing if that works for you.

I’m having the same problem. If I install the BlackMagic 10-bit codec it works.

I read that yes, it is a codec that comes with Final Cut that allows it to export/play those files on a mac (if Final Cut in installed), but won’t work on a PC. Blackmagic is the only codec (and free) that I found to work with it, although I don’t understand codecs that well and wonder if:

    A) I had Premiere pro cs3 if it would work (I have cs2 right now)

    B) if using the codec hurts the video quality any?

    Anyone else maybe know?
