Unfortunately I don’t have any other fitting firewire-device I could try. (I wouldn’t be able to check that with a firewire-connected HDD, wouldn’t I?) I know that my camera is not listed, but it worked fine before.

I deleted the updates till when it works, but even now – and after rebooting my system – I can’t get the camera connect to Avid or make Avid create a firewire-OHCI-port.

Does anyone have another glorious idea?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi Jon,

I did not change anything, but yes, I had automatical windows updates switched on. I already thought about that and checked out that I would have to delet about 7-10 security updates. If you think that my problem is caused by a windows update then that would be the only possibility, would’nt it?

    my camera: Canon XM1
my avid: Avid Xpress Pro 4.0.1

    regards,
    Andreas
