Yes I’m sure cause do all the time.
But I have made mistake with the path description.So a correct one would be for example:
/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Templates.localized/Titles.localized/Spherico/TC-Andreas

Some Notes:
Most people don’t realize that there is another option which is more preferable when you use multiple users and/or machines.
So if you prefer that always all users should have access to the templates the templates should be installed in “/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Templates/” within template matching folders.This also makes the sync of several machines less complicated and faster.

I don’t have a NAS but just an old spare machine connected thru ethernet which is used to backup some customer test projects.
The way it works here is to create a sparse(bundle) with my
own little app (https://www.spherico.com/filmtools/createDiskImage/CreateDiskImage.dmg) and move the stuff.
I never got an “out of space” error except the sparse disk image really was to small.
Might be that swapping files need a bit more virtual memory on this virtual drive. So maybe creating a 100 gig sparse disk image could solve the problem.-Andreas

Reading the thread I don’t understand what’s the problem with the duplicate project option.
Use the “Duplicate Project + Used Clips Only” option.
This creates a new event which only contains the used clips. Then select all clips in the event and transcode.-Andreas

Why should it be a nightmare to swap fields?
Simple things like running interlaced video in reversed speed will require swapping fields, same as flipping video vertical.
FCPX does handle different types of video inside a project quite nicely, but sometimes it’s needed to do such simple things.-Andreas

Oliver, I think the OP was talking about “long distance sharing”. So a SAN wouldn’t help there.
