Would you happen to know if drop zone content is not supported in the XML spec for FCP X? If this is the case, then We can never created generators with drop zones and expect the media to by populated correctly between two computers using XML; even if both computers have copies of the same library.
Unfortunately Drop Zones are not supported at all. Many people filed as bug, but nothing ever happened.
You should do that as well.– Andreas

Have you found the reason?
Another thing you can try: open Terminal, drag the generator from the “good” machine to the terminal window, copy the path displayed and paste it to a text doc.
Move the text doc to the bad machine, copy the path text, open Terminal, paste and hit return. If you get an error message the path from the “good” machine can’t be found.
Now find the generator on the bad machine and proceed as described above.
Paste the new path (as new line) in the text doc and compare the lines to find the difference.
Create a matching dir/path structure and move the generator(s) to the right place.Spherico

For the folders inside this directory the same rules apply as for “~/Movies/Motion Templates.localized/”.Keep your eye on the “.localized” extension.
To check your projects on different computers download my X-FX Handler: https://www.spherico.com/filmtools/X-Files/X-FXHandler/
Macbreak Studio recently showed it in action: https://www.provideocoalition.com/locating-missing-fx-final-cut-pro-x/

Try to create a XML from the project and one from the the library
For each the assets are listed at the beginning of the files. This way you can figure out the files needed easily with TextWrangler or BBedit.– Andreas

Hmm,
The effect shown in the video is not “easily created in Motion”.
Google for TKY Subtitler – it’s free. The best one matching the video is Subtitle X from Digital Heaven.
You can also download XTI. You don’t have to use it. Just launch it once and it will install a title effect called TextUp Box. After that you can delete the app.Andreas

August 3, 2016 at 4:53 pm in reply to: Question regarding team editing of FCPX projectsYou can do that.
Only thing you need is Dropbox or Google Drive (Google gives you more storage) and the same access.
You don’t need a XML. Just put your lib there as well. But make sure it’s open only on one of your machines.
You even can put only ref-files on your virtual drive on your master machine – it will slow down the performance though.Andreas

Hello Shawn,
As far as I know there is no app like that.
But I’m working on an app which more or less does what you need.
If you’re interested in it drop me a mail at kiel (at) spherico.com– Andreas
