    You should look for a panel, in you JVC cam, which lets you switch the different timecode generators (should be something like REC, FREE and EXT). I don’t know where it is in your model, mine has this controls in the insider part of the LCD slot.

    Problem solved using the HDV 720p25 Preset in Easy Setup and then using the Free Timecode, both in the Final Cut Setting and in the JVC Setting. Thanks for all the help

    There is no preset like that, unfortunately. And, If I want to capture HDV material I have to set Capture and Device modes to HDV, or FCP complains about that. I tried to set “non controllable device” in Device mode and “general capture” in capture mode, but did not work (and FCP did not see the camcorder either)

    But is it a FCP limit or is it impossible in general? I’m actually new to this world, but I’m almost sure that Edius can record HDV live. Gonna Investigate about it…
