10 bit packed works great in Resolve 9 beta, but SMPTE timecode does not seem to be implemented…yet

I believe its fixed in Resolve 9, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
You can “batch unpack” in Vision Research PCC, which is how I tend to fix it. Unpacked material looks perfect besides being a little unsaturated.
Haven’t heard if SMPTE TC will be implemented for .Cine files, but really hope its in Resolve 9 as well.

    Hi Dwaine,
Any updates to this you can share?
.cine performance is really great, the colors are not 🙁

Please if possible fix the input color science for .cine packed, and support the new FLEX smpte TC.

Sounds great, we are always using packed.
Let me know if you need any test files.

Also Vision research is prepping the new SMPTE Timecode firmware for the Phantom FLEX, any incentive for supporting that?

    No need to reinstall anything.

Just go to the system preferences/international and drag the japanese laungauge to the tiop of the list. The next time you launch FCP it will be in japanese.

This setting is per user so you could make different OSX logins to get different localizations

Hi I’m Anders, the person referenced as Andew in this thread. I’ll just chime in and try to help out here.

I’m sorry that anyone has lost data using my utility. This is very unfortunate.

I don’t always offer support for the free tryout version. But I sure do whenever I have the time.

Every registered user of the utility receives an email from me when they purchase. This tells them how to download the program and a few things you have to be aware of. This of cause also gives them my company email, which they can use as a support hotline. I have to this day ALWAYS responded to every retested user in a prompt fashion to support them.
There have been occasions where the email address provided by the customer, due to aggressive spam filtering has been unable to be reached, but that is on rare occasions.

Note that the email address is also in the “About” menu and the Splash screen of P2 Genie, so it’s not like we try to hide ourselves. I dont have my email address on the homepage because I believe that would be an invitation to spam, and really redundant as you should have it in the program anyway.

As much as Mr. Tomchak thinks I suck, I did actually support my customers. Primary support is thru mail though.

And please, if anyone has problems with my software or my business practices, please drop me a mail, because out of over 400 registered users, only an amazingly small amount have expressed the same negative feelings as is expressed here by Mr. Tomchank.

March 25, 2006 at 10:35 pm in reply to: When does the PAL DVCPRO HD codecs come?

1080/25p is recorded in the 1080/50i format as 25psf, and the 1080/50i codec is used for this as well, and works fine in FCP 4.5 and 5.

Panasonic does not make the codecs. Apple and Avid makes their own codecs based on licensed referece coder / decoder source code.
