There’s no files attached, but if I understand you right, fast blur and levels (in that order) should create a bloom effect.

I’m not an expert with the clone tool but I wonder if that realy is the best way to resolve this situation.
I’ve used it only to remove specks, and you have to keep in mind that the spot you sample from updates with the video.. unless that can be changed.Anyway, I would track the footgage if needed, paint out van in photoshop, place that over in AfterFX and roto the person walking in front of the van.

Can you be a more specific? What do you mean with “news based animations”, animations like those in the news, which makes me think of lower thirds..
Anyway, the technique depends on what you want to achieve. So there isn’t a one fix technique that will look great on everything. I used to think Motion blur was awesome and that it made all the difference. Now I hardly use it!..

I’d go for Fractal noise used as a displacement map, with some blur. Maybe use the fractal noise with a compound blur.

Seems like I suffered, quoting DVinfo.net, “”project bloat” bug that v. 5.0.2 is supposed to fix”.For now I have imported the main sequence from the overweighted project file in a new project. The new project file is 2MB big!
Hope the place I’m at right now will get this updated..

I’m not really sure what you are referring to. But as far as I gather, those are distortion effects. Like.. Twirl and Ripple or wave world. I think.

I’d say you’d start of with Fractal noise. Maybe a Polar cordinates to make it roundish. Tint, Tritone or somehting to give it colour.
Looks like they’ve used a Vector Blur as well.
After that my guess some a selection of distort effects will get you the variations you want.Actually here’s a tutorial!

AS far as I know and have tested just adjusting the length of the composition (CTRL-K)adding several minutes to it should get it back for you.
That is if you didn’t delete the layers that ended outside the timeline. Should you not see them select all layers and move to either side so that they appear.Auto-Save is a life saver sometimes.
