Hello,

I had the same issues and here is how I fixed it.

1- Re-convert your files with Adobe Media encoder to mp4 format
2- Go back to after effect and in your project directory click on Import File or multiple files and select the video not the folder.
3- Boom, you should have the videos imported in your After effects
