Ed, you’re not going to believe this but now it’s working. Out of the clear blue! Darn if I know. Just renedered 2 files WAV to AC3 and no problem. hmmmm.Gary
Thanks, I forgot. First render was MPEG-2 DVDa video stream at default except for the min value which I changed to 2,000,000.Now I’m re-rendering the original file according to Ed’s bitrate chart in VT&T Vol 1 No 7. Video is 1’45” so min value to 2,000,000 Mid value to 5,542,000 and high left at 8.
PS; Where’s my Excalibur 4 + DVD? ha ha

I know Ed, It’s wierd. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to wait to hear from Sony on my support incident then.
Got a first run graphic to do, then I’ll se if DVDA-2 will render the AC3.
Got to re-render the movie anyway as it’s too big for the DVD. But I don’t know because the DVD compilation is showing 4,2GB and a DVD is 4.7 ????

I believe it was Vegas 5 first then DVDA. If they need to be reversed, I can do that

I have already created a support incident at Sony. As a thought I rendered the audio to both OGG and WAV to try to get the project to fit on 1 DVD. It seems that DVDA is/will render to AC3, but it’s in process so I don’t know if it will or not.If DVDA does render to AC3, then there’s a problem with my installation of Vegas. I’ll find out but I wanted to get this project done by Sunday night to deliver a draft to the client. Guess now I’ll have to wait!

Yes, got DVDA 2.0b installed. That’s what’s wierd. Never had this problem before.

You’re right! I had to exit Vegas then re-start and it was there. Didn’t do too badly either.Did you find that AVIsynth better? I never messed with that one. Don’t yoou have to get the film into0 AVIsynth first then open it in Vegas or can you access the frameserv directly from Vegas?
I’d hate to have to render the thing as an AVI then into AVIsynth then back to Vegas.

Hi
I downloaded that DNR filter from Mike Crash’s site and installed it. But it installed in the “Sony-Filters” directory.Now I can’t find it to call it up in Vegas. Do I need to get it into the FX Filter Packages directory?
How do I get to that filter and use it?

It’s been a while since I used an AMD MoBo. I did once and din’t have any problems. However I heard and read to stay away from the VIA chip-sets.
I think the recomendation was to use Intel chip-sets. I have in my last 2 Mobo’s and haven’t had any problems. Except! I’d stay away from Abit. I had 2 BE7’s bo bad on me. And I’ve had some problems with Abit some years ago also. That one had a VIZ chipset and I had nothing but problems.

ArcSoft has a great little Video Stabilizer…..

I got it on sale at one time but at $80 it’s still worth it. Also this is a stand alone program and not a Vegas Plugin.

The few times I did V/O I just plugged the mic into my sound card, armed an audio track in Vegas and recorded directly into Vegas.
Worked great for me.
