If storage/archival on the back end is an issue…

then it makes a case for transcoding on the front end.

the ideal would be to be able to edit native and have a transcode option as part of the “Project Manage”

it doesn’t support a lot of formats….

it should work with quicktime.

Hi…

1) Can you transcode to the same codec/settings? This shouldn’t recompress.

2) a) if it’s quicktime (true)
b) if it’s marked (true)

you could essentially drop it all into a sequence…

then Project Manage it and that would allow the creating of a trimmed set as well…

i think it has to be loaded into the source viewer..then drag the effect to the source viewer.

then it will apply to instances of that clip used…
