    Hiya…

There is nothing special about a multicam sequence…

it is a nested sequence in a new timeline…

with multicam enabled on that clip (right click on it in the timeline)

    and

using the multicam viewer in place of the traditional source monitor for making selects.

this is available from the wrench in the record monitor…

if you want to end up with non contiguous edit…

maybe cut your multicam angles the way you want

then go back and extract what you don’t want from your master?

or you could extract what you don’t want to consider from you multicam source stack….that would work, too

  • yes…

if you save and apply a preset as “scaled”

when reapplied, it will apply time prportionately with the current length of the clip

    Well…based on that example specifically….

I think you could save sequence presets for the different type of split layouts.

then while working, duplicate the “preset” you want in the project panel, rename….

and option drag your sources into the layers that exist in that copy of the preset…

this will replace the content without losing the motion parapmeter setup.

then that sequence can be cut into your master as a nested sequence.

you can do that….but I assumed based on your description that you wanted to have some clips that maintained multicam editable and some that didn’t…

    that’s why offered that suggestion…

  • Scott…

you may want to consider placing the track effects stack in a SUBmaster track in the mixer (which you’d need to make by adding it to the seuqnce timeline)

then you can route your tracks thru the submaster….

this will also save a little audio processing power as you don’t need to dupe up effects….

    see above….

    don’t disable..

    drag dupe to muted track…

    then you can flatten…

    Hey…

    I like your solution…

    additionally….

if you use the metadata panel to expose video and audio usage panels

you can sort by those columns in the project panel….

and then delete the ones with no value (hence unused)…

Usually if I intend to flatten…

I’ll option drag a copy the multi 2 a different video track that’s muted. That way I can get back to it if I need to.

April 16, 2015 at 10:45 am in reply to: How to Match Differences in Shots (Adobe Premiere)

    in situations like this

I find that if you stack the 2 shots on the timeline

set the top one to difference mode in effects controls (near opacity)

    this can help a lot

things that align will be black (or no (zero value) difference).

once you have adjusted the scale and position and what not as best you can..just change the mode back to normal.
