When you say Project Panel…I assume you mean in After Effects?
If so….I doubt this is a problem…
as long as the comps themseleves only refer tot he frames of the source you want to process. (how you have the clips trimmed in PPro).
Sending individual shots to AE would be correct. AE doesn’t have any logic to understand how the shots themselves relate to each other.
I’d think you should be fine.

Wish it was that easy….
it’s not that it’s stuttering….
it just plays for about 6 secs and then stops.
only dealing with mp4 1080 stuff which I routinely play fine in the previous version I had (2014).
weirdness….

If you go to AE….
you can use AE’s Proxy functionality to create a proxy and set it to be used for the comp.
this will make it much lighter in PPro…
and still allow you to maintain the dynamic link as you currently have it set….

1st thing I see is your sequence is 1080p
your export is upper field in field order?
could that account for it?

don’t let yellow bars intimidate you….
let footage not playing back be your guide…
Sure PPro can read raw stuff without conversion….
but your actual work will really be your guide.
yours calls for stacking layers in this case…
if it was standard editorial….this might not be the case….
so it sorta depends…

I’m going to bet the H264 and XAVC codecs are the culprit here.
that’s a lot data to decode. So I am doubtful that drive speed is the issue here….
Transcoding to a friendlier format might be useful.
cMP = Mac Pro?
ProRes is an obvious choice.
Avid DNX might also be a good choice but might need to be added to your system.Additonally, Adobe offers GoPRo Cineform built in. You might give that a whirl.
Once you do transcode…you should see more of the burden on the drives than the CPU’s…
as always….
test the workflow before committing.

I think I remember reading about this…
which is when ppl are loggin shots…they were getting annoyed at having to click to manually enable each item to edit…
so the behavior was changed so that this behaves much more like a “spread sheet”
I can see how you question arises…

I think you would be better served by putting related clips on the same track in the seqence…
then in the sequence audio mixer
you can add the echo at the track level…
then you will no longer experience the effect ending at the clip extent.
