    Hi Todd,

That’s great. Much appreciate the detailed answer.

Do you know how long a signal runs through an HDMI cable? I’m thinking of running a C100 to a screen via a 30 metre (90 ft approx.) cable.

    Cheers,

    Alex

  • Ah yes, I didn’t look hard enough on the Atomos website. It only supports:

    Frame rates
    1080p; 24/SF24/25/SF25/30/SF30
    1080i; 50/60i
    720p; 50/60p
    SD 480i, 576i

    Cheers,

    Alex

March 3, 2016 at 11:12 am in reply to: Getting C100 ‘Media Pending’ issue

Thanks Philip, however I’ve just tried this and unfortunately it doesn’t make any difference.

To reiterate, the only way I can see my footage in Premiere (and not have media pending appear) is for it to be located on to my desktop and my Premiere project files to be located on an external hard drive. This is fine for a small project but not for one where I have hundreds of gigs worth of footage (and thus not enough space on my Mac’s internal hard drive). It also doesn’t work if I use two separate hard drives, one for footage, the other for project files. The video files HAVE to be located on my desktop for some reason, other wise media pending appears.

    Please help!!!

  • Anyone out there?!

  • Hi Al,

    Thanks for your reply.

As you say it sounds like without creating proxies I’m going to struggle to edit 4K sufficiently with my current setup.

Out of curiosity, and this question goes out to Ivan and David too (thanks for both of your replies btw), if I do creative proxies of the 4K footage and then relink the footage once I’ve done the edit, am I going to have problems with XAVCi as I’m using CS6 even though I’m only doing the final export with the 4K footage and not the edit itself?

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Ah, that’s good to know, thanks David.

Do you know if I’d likely experience the same problem with Canon Cinema Range 4K cameras and/or the Blackmagic Design camera?

Game over I think. I’ve formatted the drive and it still doesn’t work on my MacBook Pro. Still works on the iMac though. It’s a mystery!

Thanks John, yeah, assumed formatting (after backing up) would be the next course of action.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your response.

I’ve rebooted the MacBook Pro and still nothing. It doesn’t appear on Disk Utility either.

To make things even stranger it doesn’t work on other Macbooks now either (I borrowed a friends to check). So it only works on my iMac having previously worked on everything.

Any further thoughts? I’m completely stumped!

    Cheers,

    Alex
