You only will find out if you test it. If your dealer claims and is convinced he should do this for you. Distance approxm. 30m with a longzoom to an 8m screen.
    Personally I´m not convinced.

    you will need an Intercom…

SOny´s Z1 are the most used Cameras by VJs (Videojournalists), You also can use the cheaper FX1, but Z1 ist preferred because of the professional XLR-ins.

But if you are on budget, keep away from cheapy wirelesssystems. They don´t work if a lot of crowd is around. (In testsituations without people it could work)
The other problem is the time differenc between Picture and sound, I assume that the sound comes live from the sounddivision, than you are far off with the screens picture. If you don´t have the money for professional linksystems go for cabels

maybe the JVC Cam was aligned perfectly so it worked with the mixer. Normally the panasonic cam should have a “genlock in” which you use as sync. If the cam was used with a timebasecorrector it could be that there is no sync input, than that´s bad luck…or you must organize an additional TBC

nothing wrong with it, dependent on the importance I only would check for a backup hardwarerecorder

Pewrsonally I would go with the panasonic, more “haptic mixer feeling” and not so much opportunities to make mistakes. But take a bigger monitor like 20″ or 21″ for the multiview, you than can place the monitor farer away, because otherwise you are very limited in your view, with the sony you alwys have to have a concentrated look at this small tiny pictures beside the non ability to judge the picturequality.
As I remeber in the panas multiview you can switch to solo full screen views for each camera and judge the quality like exposure etc.

You will need an external syncgenerator, this same external syncsignal should get every device like cam and mixer.

For test purposes you can try one Cam signal as a syncgenerator and sending via an video distribution amplifier to the other devices.

July 17, 2008 at 10:53 am in reply to: Yet Another Multiple Display Question

For simple switching without fades and wipes the sources to different outputs a simple matrixswitcher would be enough.

But the problem starts at the players side. Dependent if you need a frameaccurate playback or not it becomes more complicated. Even with a simple matrix switcher and non frameaccurate you need all players, cameras and matrix to run on the same blanking puls (genlock/ref in) other wise you´ll get glitches during switching.

The only easy and mobile switcher (no genlock needed) I know, if the content of the players must not be frameaccurate would be Grass Valleys Indigo with the disadvantege of only 5 independent outputs (PGM-PRV-3 AUX) but very easy to handle with e-memory and easy to explain

Otherwise (frameaccurate playback) I would ask spyders guy If he or another experienced technician could run your show (the budget I know, but asking is without costs) because I really don´t know of any easy multi screen shows

    good luck

    Thanks Thomas for your answer.

Yeah I know this players, there are a lot of the same in use only different branded.
These are nice players suprisingly very reliable, but only as long as you leave it alone as a standalone player with a fixed setup (like Player+ monitor with ac on and off).
For my current project (3-panorama) I´ve choosen the wings showcontrol with 3 CF Player as a source, because people can choose the video (show1/2/3 etc) with stumpfls IR-remotecontrol. The problem is that Stumpfl´s CF-player are available only as SDTV with YC out. As we produce the content with the REDone(4k) camera we would have enough pixels in the length for this panoramicprojection, but with SDTV Players we will loose this benefit. Unfortunately using 3 PCs as our source is out of question (customer).
Stumpfl says that they will have an HDTV Player maybe end of this year. (to late for now)

So I´m still looking for better synchronizeable HD-players

Best way is to render out your movie in a jpeg or png sequenz.
Import this sequence in Wingsplatinum. You than can treat this as a normal timeline,
Advantage is, if you have minor changes in you video just render out the affected area and replace this part in WP.
There is a basic version at Avstumpfl for free. Download this and try if you can get comfortable with this program.
The program is rocksolid and stable.

Simplest way is to have a PC with a dualhead graphics card and wingsplatinum (pro version) With this version you can use both outputs from the card as a panorama projection.

Not shure what you mean by on site editing, you can´t edit during a show, but last minute edits before the showstart is always possible.

Best would be to look for a contact in your area.
