November 7, 2017 at 2:39 am in reply to: Confused about mixing framerates, slow motion! Thanks for the response
From what i had read elsewhere, shooting at 60p and throwing it into a 30p timeline will look odd due to the shutter speed.
I actually noticed this with a clip I filmed in 60p and put in my 30p timeline, and it looks odd, not enough motion blur or something!

I know Premiere will handle all the framerates. I’m more wondering if I should shoot 2550/p or 30/60p as Im in a Pal country but also want to get the best smooth motion in slow motion and normal, whilst avoiding light flicker.

hi
Thanks for the help. I have tried importing the mts files through media browser and still the audio does not appear, I did read a lot about it and followed peoples advice to no avail.
I have tested it shooting in Mp4 though and it works fine. Is there any disadvantage to using mp4 instead of avchd?
Thanks

Hi,
thanks for the advice. Yeah I dont use photoshop much or illustrator, I just like to draw, so Im not too savvy with this stuff.
I will get in touch and ask them more about how they want to do it 🙂

thanks, I have upped the quality to 31, its made a bit of a difference, but still doesnt look like proper DVD quality, obviously lower.
there are other settings, should I change any of these :
I-frames
B-Frames
Profile : main or high?variable or constant bitrate, and how many BPS?
And also then I end up with one Pmeg file, how do i make this a playable dvd in any dvd player?
Also, because the film is only 10 minutes is there a way to use more space to get more quality?
thanks for all your help

Thanks. My vegas version is 11.0. The length of the project is only 11 minutes! So its definitely not too big.
I just dont know what preset to use when rendering out, or how to make it mazimum qualit, Ive been trying the mpeg 2 DVD architect preset and it looks terrible.
I didnt realise I had to get it on DVD until recently and as I hadnt done that before its turned into a last minute panic!!

August 4, 2014 at 4:16 pm in reply to: Canon 70d stutter/dropped frames? Shoot tomorrow !Hi
I have a class ten card, and its the fastest one I could get. So its not that.
I have just read elsewhere that the same problem happens on various canon cameras. It is to do with the aperture adjusting when going from light to dark.
So the answer is to shoot in manual!

August 3, 2014 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Canon 70d stutter/dropped frames? Shoot tomorrow !I am not sure if it has something to do with shooting int Auto mode, as it seems to happen when I point it at the window, going quickly from dark to light etc.

July 28, 2014 at 7:48 am in reply to: About to make a film on Canon D70, need some advice!Hi guys
Thanks for all the tips, really helfpul. I have a few days to get familiar with the camera. I might have made myself sound like a bit more of a noob than I am. I am not a photographer but have used SLR’s a fair bit. The reason they asked me to do it, is because I recently made a promo film for a community I was sating at, and they really liked it. It was the first thing I’d done like that, and I filmed it all on a Panasonic Lumix G3 with a 20mm fixed lens. I recorded the audio for interviews with a Zoom H1, and also worte and recorded the music for it. I was pretty happy with the results, even if it is a bit cheesy! Have a look if you like :

But this time I thought I would use the Canon, as I have better and more versatile lenses, OIS, etc. The first film I made was pretty much all on a tripod with fixed focus.
So if I wasnt to use auto mode, what mode would be best. Aperture priority, shutter priority, or Program mode? I dont really get program mode, it seems the closest to Auto, except you can change ISO and a few other things…but the manual is useless.
Thanks again guys, its really helpful
