Aanarav, I also trimmed the project so that I could eliminate the excess raw footage from my hard drive, then I de-fragged.

Aanarav,

It took over twoo hours for a 54 minute sequence. There are no filters. Just a few short titles over one video track and one audio track. I made it simple so that I could export direct to DVD.

And also, my performance settings are set for ‘Best for Programs’

Thanks. I feel better about the transcode time. But, the machine is slowing down as I get further into the project. Windows take a while to open up, etc. I was wondering what on my computer is slowing it down.
Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz, 1 Gig RAM should perform better. Is there still aproblem with XP service pack 2, or the Sony Media Center? I do have Norton Internet Security installed. Disabling it doesn’t help.
