    Are you rendering on the fly as this might be beyond performance of your machine or disk array. If the individual frames can be clicked through OK, you may need to play off a faster/cleaner disk set to get the delivery rate required.

    Depends a bit on your scan patterns – varicam basically works at 59.94 (or 60) P, but depend show it was shot. The varicam works by recording UP TO 60 fps, so 24fps recording would still give 60fps tapes with 36 spare/junk frames to extract. Otherwise stariaght 59.94 (all active frames) can be played back at 29.97 and will effectively output every other frame from the deck with the effect of a 29.97 recording. If you want slo-mo from the 59.94 then you need to time stretch it (effectively one second shot will last for 2 seconds at playback). Not a complete answer but shows options
